Gaudreau has to make the team now. If after a stretch of "real" NHL games, it seems better for him to have a stint in the AHL, you can always move him down later. But as of right now, he is too good to demote.
Jooris is also making a case, and the fact he shoots right and can play at both C and RW is a plus. If he doesn't make the team, he should be one of the first callups. If Setoguchi makes the team over Jooris, the only thing I can think of is that the organization wants to give Setoguchi one last shot to prove he can play in the NHL before waiving him
