Ryan Huska wants to see an uptempo team when the Adirondack Flames take the ice, and he’s drilling them that way in training camp.

The Flames don’t break at the board to talk about drills often in practice. That would only slow things down. Instead, the coaches go over a few drills before they take the ice. Huska said he expects players will know the drills pretty quickly and they won’t even have to do that.

“Our plan is try to wear teams down over the course of a game,” Huska said. “So we need to learn to do things fast when we’re on the ice in practice.”

So far, the players are responding to that style.
