He's a skill player, maximize his strengths, which are skating, shooting, making plays.
I understand being strong on the puck, and competing, but why ask him to be physical? You aren't asking Gaudreau to be physical, so why ask Sven?
There has to be some miscommunication here.
I always see Sven trying to throw big hits and that's not what he should be doing. YES he should be competing in scrums for the puck and being strong on his skates and not give up the puck easily, but throwing hits just shouldn't be part of his duties.

Agreed. I feel like Sven has been trying to play a game that he's not really built for in the NHL. It's just a recipe for injury for him, he should be learning how to play a smart physical game and not just try to charge into guys and take himself out of the play.
I am not sure it's what he's been coached into doing or whether it's just the game he played in the WHL and now he's trying to do the same stuff in the NHL where he's playing against bigger and stronger competition. He's not small but he's small by NHL standards still.
