I understand why teams that want to quit on a task have make a pact....taking a 4 hour penalty requires you to have everyone on board. What I don't get is why people don't break the pact or why they can so easily get multiple teams to agree.
In this case what I really don't understand is how they thought they stood a hope in hell of winning a foot race to the mat. I said to my wife while I was watching "if it actually comes down to a foot race they are hooped". And they were. They got their just comeuppance for knocking the pen of the firefighters away earlier in the leg.
