I got my order from Chain Reaction today. They did a good job. Unfortunately, Canada Post screwed up. CR correctly declared the value of my goods at $103.48 CAD. Canada Post saw that amount and decided that exchange rate from CAD to CAD would be 1.7882, driving the value up to $185.04. I got charged 12% on an additional $81.56, and they also charged me a $9.95 processing fee for their error. I get the package came from the UK, and that is likely the GPB exchange rate, but it very clearly states on the package it's in CAD. As it was only $103, I didn't think they'd charge me taxes and handling anyways, since the amount was small. With the "exchange rate" it looks like a big amount, and then all taxes and fees are levied.
