He's going to be 24 this season and he's in the final year of his contract. There will be an influx of new players on the blue line next season so the numbers are stacked against him. There are going to be limited spots available which means he's got to shine fast. You're likely going to see Acolatse, Kulak, Sieloff and Wotherspoon sent down, and then one of Brooknank or Yonkman join them. You then have Potter or Diaz as the 7th defenseman, and if Diaz earns the spot, Potter goes to the farm. Ramage is just getting caught in a numbers game, which could make him resigning with the Flames a tough sell. I'm a huge Ramage fan, and love what he brings to the game, but he's caught in a tough spot numbers wise.
