“Yeah, I've heard all that and I do think I have the style of play they want and I just want to show it to them,” Ferland said. “I just want to keep showing up and play my best.”

“What's impressive about a young player like Ferly is that for all those young kids, now we're getting closer and closer to NHL hockey,” beamed Flames head coach Bob Hartley. “You don't want to have a separation. You need to keep up with the pace, and Ferly was a force.”

“He's fearless,” Hartley said. “He's not scared. He's strong. He's in shape. This kid deserves lots of credit — the progress he's shown and the maturity that he acquired over the last two years is unbelievable.”

“Obviously, they're letting guys go and I just want to keep playing hard and just stick around as long as I can,” Ferland said. “I feel good right now. I've got a lot of confidence, but I've still got a lot of work to do. I just want to keep grinding it out and hopefully stick around.”
