The mafias behaviour so far in the Bizaro vote has been to go along with the crowd and blend in and let consensus lynch a townie. So why I am going against the group? I don't believe that I should ever vote for a person I believe is town.

I think there is one flaw in your reasoning. Wood told everyone to calm down and not vote after the 9th one. Therefore there was no threat of the hammer because the town was told to stop. It was in fact a reprieve for the mafia and they no longer needed to act recklessly because the voting stopped to spare Bizaro in the hope of him speaking up. Wood's vote, action and now unvote could all be a diversion. If we had hammered Bizaro right now, we may have lost a friend but the mafia wouldn't have been able to counter and be dealt a huge blow if he were indeed scum.
Don't be so sure that Bizaro isn't scum. The mafia could simply instruct Bizaro to show up after the votes assuming everyone will change their vote cause their reason for voting for him in the first place was based solely on inactivity. He did conveniently show up at the right time. Because of this, I'm keeping my vote on Bizaro for the time being.
