A lot of positives in this game. I agree with most of what's been said, but..
I really hope they don't sign Diaz. I see too much Butler in him with the way he constantly gives the puck to the opposition. It seemed like everytime the Flames were hemmed in their zone for long periods, I would ALWAYS see Diaz on the ice. This guy doesn't have the offense to make up for his terrible defense, at least not in the Western Conference.
Setoguchi was somewhat noticeable in the offensive zone, but some of his passes were just plain bad with 0 effort put in. I'm not sure whether he signed this contract to prove people wrong or make his last buck in the NHL.
Baertchi deserves to start the season with the big club from what he's shown this far. He's done everything Hartley/Burke wanted of him in the AHL and offseason. I'm seeing a more complete player in all 3 zones so it would be a slap in the face to send him down after the dedication and maturity he's shown.
