And oh yeah, are likely to be drinking excessively in that 120 degree heat. Almost guarantee you a fan or many fans will die of heat related stuff if it goes on in Qatar. FIFA should have known that from day 1, but nothing beats a good bribe to make you forget about anyone but yourself and healthier bank account.

Plus the whole sponsoring terrorism thing. I can't imagine many want to help a country such as that with tourism money.
That's why I said they should play the tournament in the winter. Either that or trust that Qatar will get their cooling technology for stadiums and spectator areas working before the start of the tournament. That was a big part of their bid and fifa seemed go be OK with it when they awarded them the tournament. There's no indication that Qatar has backed down on their commitments, so why is this suddenly an issue?

Qatar would be a pretty safe place for football supporters.

The corruption and virtual slave labour should be the reason they lose their bid
Sure... But FIFA already knew about the conditions in the country.

I would love for this tournament to be held closer to home (rumor is, if they take this away from Qatar, it'll go to Canada, the US or a combination of the two), but it just seems rather scummy for FIFA to take this away from Qatar after so much time and money has been invested into it already.
