And this kinda hits the nail on the head. 95% of my Apple loyalty is admittedly based on complacency and comfort zone. I have learned the iOS system in and out, and it just comes naturally. I can delve into the most advanced features and settings of it now without blinking an eye. And I really don't want to learn something new. When Apple updates stuff, it is usually pretty subtle, and you only have to learn a couple new things. They never make massive changes.
That and having pretty much my entire circle of family and friends running iOS/Mac you can maximize all the iOS/OSX exclusive features like FaceTime and iMessage with them. Not all people have Skype on their phones.
And lol at the dishwasher hate. I was just making an obscure example of a app that could be useful. You are sitting at work, and are having company that night. "Crap, did I turn on the dishwasher last night?" Or you are out at the movies "Crap, did I close the garage door?" A huge one which I believe is already capable with nest, is turning on your A/C an hour or so before you leave work. Not only saves you money, but is environmentally friendly as well. These are the coming features that get me excited.
