I'm certain its no joke. These animals do there best to avoid human contact and even though there is a healthy amount of them along the bow in this area its very rare to see one for long enough to get a photo. The fact that this cat not only chose to venture to an area full of people but didn't leave after many hours makes me think it was sick or just old and not able to feed itself anymore so it was looking for an easy meal.
