Very minimal. $100 for the one-up 42T/16T from their website (and find that I don't even need this climbing cog for city use... If I had to do it again, I'd just do the narrow-wide chainring with regular cassette). The narrow-wide chainring can be had for $55 at MEC or sites like wolftooth/absoluteblack. I abolutely love it. So simple, no getting your pant-leg dirty on the front mech.
Bossy - XX1 drivetrain I presume? I wanted one but can't justify 1200USD for a city bike. The one complaint I have about my XX1-wanna-be drivetrain is that the shifting is not as clean as it could be. I guess the XT mech isn't made for 42T sprockets...
