This is why, in my opinion, Gaudreau will never get injured by a clean hit just due to physicality or size. He's far too shifty and aware to get leveled. But he (and any other player) will always be at risk of dirty plays.

I've seen Johnny get laid out multiple times with clean hits. He's not as good at avoiding hits as people seem to think he is.
