If Johnny plays well enough in camp to make the team, I don't see the point of sending him down to the A "just because".
He already has sky-high level skills and hockey iq. Even if he has some learning to do (ie systems), would it not be preferable to have him mentored by our best coaches and veteran NHLer's?
Not to mention the deterrence factor of having Engelland, Bollig, Bouma and McGratton ect around on the big club.
