From doing some reading on the "other hockey forum" its seems to be brought up quite a bit, im of the opinion that the Canucks are happy with Shinkaruk and the Flames are equally as happy with Poirier, simple as that.
I've watched Shinkaruk develop pretty much since he started skating. His skill has always been evident. I've played on the same team as him (not at high level) but I never saw any major attitude problems.
I doubt if the Flames passed on Klimchuk and he was drafted by the Bruins there would be any similar type of story. Shinkaruk dropped in the draft and was taken two picks after the Flames pick by another Canadian team.
