I think it is pretty much impossible to keep the cartoon element out of the movie at that point, so you are better off just to embrace it (ala Avengers and Cap's very silly looking costume). Fans will accept it.. but right now I am having a hard time accepting this Batmobile.

We will see I guess.
Very true, I was even very impressed with the way Whedon managed to alter people's expectations and beliefs in The Avengers.

You realize that for the most part Thor and the Hulk cant be killed and ergo are almost certainly going to win, much like Superman, but he made their being hurt and their struggle believable.

Thats something that no Superman movie has managed IMO. Superman is a tough character and I think that perhaps the key to making him work is surrounding him with a supporting cast.

Like you said, embrace the unbelievability and roll with it, but the Superman movies just ask too much and I'm hoping that with the addition of Batman they can maybe reel it in a little bit but unfortunately I think they're going the other way. Looking at that Batmobile it seems like they're going to stretch things as far as they can.
