People like to say the rebuild started with the iggy trade. To me it started in 2011, when our drafting approach changed and we stopped trading away high picks. And seeing as several players from that class are beggining to make an impact at the top level and look poised to become key pieces of the team moving forward it even further reinforces that point. We started accumulating quality prospects long before that trade. Thus the year 2 thing doesn't mean much to me. Well be bad this year, but will make our way up the standings very shortly after that, if even half of these kids happen to pan out. As for defense, Hanifin/kylington will shore that issue up pretty quickly, as they are supposedly on Ekblads level or better. And he's already skating in the NHL this fall.
