Finally got to sit and play a few games last night. For everything EA got wrong with the game modes, the gameplay itself will keep me coming back to the game far more than either of the last 2 iterations did. I really like the variety of plays that you end up seeing thanks to the puck physics. Should get plenty out of the game thanks to that alone.
Also, as much as they go on and on about how they improved the presentation -- that green screen intro with the commentary team is already grating on my nerves, I will skip it every time. Also, they managed to take one of the best play by play guys and make him sound as bad as Rob Kerr. Just brutal commentary, it all sounds awkward and has no natural flow.
I think the game does deserve the flack its getting, but if you can overlook the glaring ommissions, there's a good game of hockey in it.
