For me the advantage is security. My grandpa did this old-man-thing when he used to pay for meals in a restaurant. He'd give his credit card to the server and then follow them to the machine and watch them like a hawk. It's funny that today everybody worries so much about online credit card fraud, but we freely hand somebody our credit card to walk away. I used to think grandpa was nuts, but looking back he was being cautious in what is probably the most dangerous action you can do with a credit card.

The fact that the apple pay info uses unique 1-time numbers is very attractive. I can pay at a store and they can literally lose all the data, and it won't be of any value.

Further, it's linked to a fingerprint. PIN codes and passwords are so easy to skim that I feel far better using a fingerprint.

As for the watch, I was most interested with the stuff they tacked on at the end. The exercise stuff was pretty interesting, and the gameification with those circles is something that would totally get me hooked because I'm weird. I'm not sure I want to pay $350 for an exercise band, when the iPhone already has the updated M8 chips that do movement, gps, and elevation change.

Cook mentioned that the feature list is quite long. A developer used his watch as a view finder for his phone camera? That's pretty awesome. There are loads of times I set up my phone, set a timer, attempt a family photo and screw something up. I'm interested to see where this goes, but I'm not sure V1 is for me.
