I'm curious why you'd say that. I know on many occasions I've spent hours - sometimes to the detriment of my family life - chasing stories to confirm things.

It was an inappropriate tongue in cheek comment. I have removed it and apologize unreservedly for the comment. Your point on Jason Blair is well taken. Proper review of content for stories is a difficult job for editors and individual reporters alike, with an element of industry standards, media outlet standards, personal standards and editorial discretion all playing a part I am sure. My apologies again.
