While I don't entirely agree with all each one of your points, the fact is that there is little lost and much to gain by it not being there.

Even before I saw the numbers last night, I realized that removing the thread would never 'win' the poll, but at what point does it make sense to close it even if it is a minority opinion?
It has been pointed out before that there is hundreds of places to get that exact content elsewhere on the internet, so it being on CP just allows the community to share in that content together. In that respect, it is very much like the Funny Pics thread. The place where it differs from the Funny Pics thread is that the comments are typically offensive, and that seems to be the part that most people have an issue with.
