I want to join Spa Lady, because the location is convenient and they have the only machine in the city that I can tone my inner thighs with.
If they say no, I am going to file a human rights complaint. And they better damn well build me a change room to use as well.
How is that any different?
edit: For the record, I am not saying what this barber is doing is right, but these types of gender specific rules have to apply both ways with absolutely ZERO exceptions. I would bet there are far more organizations and companies that exclude men, than there are ones that exclude women.
