If it feels like I'm being "dickish" it's because I feel like we're trying harder and harder to appease a vocal minority (a very small one at that) at the expense of what the community at large wants. I'm hoping the poll will put the debate about what to do at rest.

You have a choice to be abrasive and condescending about it, or not. You chose to be abrasive and condescending. Regardless of what problem you have with vocal minorities, you are still capable of acting civil about it.
Good threads need either A) a people who contribute a lot or B) a lot of contributors. The current thread has that, and this scenario would only improve that while making the thread a little less of a glaring eyesore to some people. It's not that it's "what you like vs what I like", it's that it's "what I like AND NOTHING ELSE". It's a chance for both men and women to enjoy it instead of one gender pretty much having to avoid that thread all the time.
I guess what I'm asking, is why there would need to be a "Hot Women" thread and a "Hot Guy" thread when they could just be one thread? Give me a good reason why that would be a bad thing.
