Talk to me about sewer back-up.
We have previously experienced plugging in our main sewer line last year in September and October. We had the city out to verify that the main was clear each time, and had the line run with a cutter after the second episode. Now again this year we have recently experienced plugging yet again. The regularity that the plugging occurs is concerning, and I'd like to rectify the issue to prevent yearly backups through the basement floor drains and shower.
Outside of proactive yearly maintenance calls to get someone in to auger the sewer line, what other options are there? Would a sewer scope help identify the issue, or would I be opening myself up to other headaches? Am I looking at the potential of running a liner in my sewer line? I do have a large, city owned, tree in the front yard, but would ideally like to avoid getting it taken out.
Anyone else deal with repeated sewer back-ups?
