If you've got evidence to prove us wrong, I'd love to see it. I have had met people argue your side before, generally in fringe Christian groups that have about as good an understanding about their religion as radicals do about Islam. Now, that could be completely unfair, but that's been my experience when someone gives an answer like that. Especially when not backing it up. I guess, when I hear a statement like that, it's always been a hop, skip, and jump away from, 'well, ours is the REAL Christianity'.
Ultimately, Christians just believe in Jesus and that he was the son of god. After that, there is a lot of different interpretations of a lot of other things. Some big, and some small. But Catholics do believe Jesus Christ was the son of god, ergo, they are as Christian as any other group.
All UCB was saying was a comparison as vague but as true as 'all women are humans, but not all humans are women'. Again true, but not the best example or point as it's quite vague. Still, for you to reply, 'not even close', cannot be correct in any manner that I can see.
Now I'm sure I've oversimplified something here, and Textcritic is going to come in and give me a gentle tongue lashing, but I'll listen to him, as he knows what he's talking about.
