I didn't realize Schultz is already 24.
That's a pretty lofty statement by MacT. It's true that, as of right now, Schultz probably has the highest potential to be the Oilers' most complete threat on the blueline, but the kid is just about entering his prime years and he has a ton of work to do. I don't see a Norris trophy in his future, but I also don't know much about him outside of stats and the handful of Oiler games I've watched in the last 2 years.
As for the contract I would say it's a fair dollar figure for what he currently brings to the table.
