Tanguay for me here. Helped set-up the best forward and ARGUABLY best Flame of all time Jarome (though a case can definitely be made for Kipper). Definitely had some fantastic moments as a Flame, though definitely was a whiner and a pouter both times the organization traded him away. Still, hard to deny what he contributed to the team while he was here for the most part.
Almost chose Brathwaite here. Though he was only 'steady' and not great, he did come at a time when this organization was EXTREMELY desperate for a competent goalie. He provided that in his time with the Flames. I know I loved him, but I can't say he was ever 'great', even with a few spectacular saves.
I thought Leopold was really good here in Calgary. I liked him while he was here quite a lot, and he worked extremely well with Regehr. Just never became that offensive defencemen many believed he could become.
Nichol was all heart and soul, but his tenure was just too short. Came in just as this organization was turning around a bit leading to the '04 run. Was constantly surprised to see him in the NHL every year considering how big he was, and the kind of game he played.
