The whole year. with whoever was in the line up.. Bouma's rookie year he was very seldom on the 4th line (the McGrattan line).
Very few teams roll 4 lines.
On successful NHL teams always has to be at least 1 or 2 Bouma type players in in your top 9 forwards.
Of the players that missed time last year to give Bouma ice-time none provides what Bouma does. Hartley knows what he is getting every time he sends Bouma out.
Yelle maxed out at 10 goals /year, but never was a 4th line player.
Stoll is the 4th or 5th most talented centre on the Kings Kopitar, Richards, Carter, Toffilli, yet he doesn't get moved to the 4th line.
Prust has 4th line scoring skills but hasn't been on a 4th line since he left the Flames.
Bouma may get forced to the 4th line but this would be because Bollig actually can play well enough to move into the top-9....
I wouldn't be surprised if both Bouma and Bollig get 12-14 minutes a game.
Maybe the 4th line gets rolled Bruins/Ranger style but then McGrattan presents a problem and the Flames lack the lead dog that can be double shifted on the 4th line.... Hudler/Backlund?
