So based on last year, we have 2 additional full time (82 game) spots on D and 4 additional full time spots on forward.
I think Johnny will be playing some significant NHL this year whether he "starts" or not.

I don't think you can count the games of players sent down (ie Bärtschi) or traded (ie Jackman) in your stats.
Better may be to add up all the games played in a Flames uniform (I'm too lazy to do it) divided by 82. You would have to factor in backup goalies though cause the don't get a GP but they are there of course.
