This doesn't affect Gaudreau at all. If he plays his way onto the team at camp then they can easily swap Hudler (or Raymond) to RW to open up a top 6/9 spot and demote one of the weaker players. If he doesn't play his way onto the team then he spends a year in the AHL, that's not a terrible thing either.
