That is all well and good for you, but in fact I do NEED my cellphone for work. Can't live without it. Just like I can't live without the Internet for work. Both weren't available when I graduated from University, but now both are necessities. Thats just the way it is. Times change.
So yes, at least one person on this planet NEEDS a cellphone.
