Clarification. Deal reached.

A lawyer representing Todd Bertuzzi has fired back at Steve Moore’s older brother for suggesting a settlement agreement has not been reached between the parties in their long-running civil case, saying Mark Moore’s comments were out of line. Geoff Adair, said on Tuesday that a “firm and binding” agreement that was “enforceable by a court” had been reached by all parties involved. On Wednesday, Mark Moore threw cold water on that assertion, telling TSN he had received a text message from his younger brother saying, “there is no deal yet.”
Hours later, the Vancouver Canucks, who were also named in the suit, issued a statement to say that, yes, a settlement agreement had in fact been reached.
“Mark Moore is not a party to this lawsuit and does not know what he is talking about nor is he very smart to have made untrue defamatory statements such as these,” Adair told the National Post on Thursday.
