Basically this. ^
He's one of the best hitting SS in the game but he's average at best defensively. I'd really like it if he could be moved to 2B but the Jays lack any potential natural successor at SS anywhere above rookie ball (and odds are that they'll either bust or change position) and the fact that SS is a position of high prestige so it's hard to ask an all-star calibre player to move off of it (See: Jeter, Derek).
