There are a couple of strange sets of reactions in this thread. On the one hand there are posters who are impatient and desperate for news about Hayes' signing—mostly because they are desperate for news. But it comes off as a little odd, given that his decision has nothing to do with fans, and whatever decision that he does make is likely to have a minimal impact on each of our day-to-day live.s On the other hand, there are some who behave as though Hayes has somehow slighted the Flames by his decision not to sign here. Now I could understand this if the Flames had drafted him, but they didn't and he is no more "rejecting" Calgary than he is the 27 other teams that he doesn't happen to sign with. I other words, relax. The only group who should feel in any way put out are the Chicago Blackhawks and their fans.
Hayes is "found money". And every day that you happen to not find money does not result in anger, frustration, and regret. If he signed with the Flames that would have been great. But his decision to take his time making in making it, or to sign with another team does not make him a bad person, or selfish, or stupid.
