I got a Capital One Aspire a few months ago and I like it. Just went on a trip to Africa and managed to get $700 redeemed from my flight which then came up as a credit on my card 2-3 days afterwards.

You can also split travel costs up by saying that there's 2-9 tickets. (ie. split a $1200 ticket into 2 tickets each at $600, only redeem one, and you only need 60,000 points to redeem). It's a bit of a pain that you have to wait until it's $600+ or get something in the right tier by fiddling with the number of tickets but the value and ease of use is worth it.

The insurance coverage is pretty comprehensive as well - trip cancellation, interruption, emergency, baggage loss/delay, etc.
