You say this like it's a cut and dry fact but you have no idea what Hayes values and what he sees as being best for his career. Why did Stinktown win the Justin Schultz sweepstakes instead of Philly or Pittsburgh or Detroit or any number of contenders at the time that had holes to fill on the back end? We simply have no idea how the negotiations played out. And it's the same case here. You're making this issue way too black and white.
