1. Billins: My pick. Already has NHL skill as a depth D. Has a chance of improving his game in the KHL and becoming a decent defender in the NHL.
2. Jooris: Was decent last season and has some NHL upside as a depth player.
3. Acolatse: Chance of making the NHL as a depth player. Low ceiling though.
4. Harrison: Fan favorite after being a physical forced in development camp a season ago. But he didn't have a great season and he took a step back at development camp this season.
5. Carroll: Overage player drafted in the 7 round. More of a convenience pick as he is on the same team as Kanzig (though he could play in the AHL this season). Limited upside.
6. Elson: I was higher on Elson last season as a potential energy depth player. But his upside was limited and he ended up in the ECHL for a good chunk of last season.
7. Deblouw: Took a step back last season. Doesn't sound like he is all that committed to going pro. Limited upside to begin with.
8. Thiessen: At 28 he is the oldest prospect on the list. He has one decent season in the AHL in the last three seasons. Can't see him getting past Ortio, Ramo, or Gilles.
