Of course picking Duncan Keith with the 54th pick worked out okay for the Hawks though. I would say very confidently that the Hawks would have rather signed Hayes than grab this compensation pick, in any case they wont see it as the end of the world though.

He did say could be, which i agree with. Imo hayes is worth the shot because he is found money. That being said, i don't hold much hope in him becoming anything. I'm not completely sold on him. If signing meant he would be are 50th contract then i probably wouldn't be interested.
