We were talking about doing a road trip out for the long weekend. I do have a decent tolerance for driving, but if two days in Seattle is kind of tight, we might just go to Kelowna. If I were you, I would do Spokane and Glacier National Park on the same trip. Just book ahead. Hotels in Spokane and Coeur D'Alene are always full in the summer, as it is such a popular vacation destination.
If you or your wife shop online and order things from American stores, you can save a significant amount on duty, taxes and shipping from doing a long weekend in Spokane. Plus, the town is a really nice place, with a nice waterfall right in the center of town.
And if you do go to Coeur D'Alene, catch breakfast at Jimmy's Down the Street. Best food ever.
