I don't think demo's are gone. NHL15 demo is coming to all consoles as per IGN (
IGN Article) and we'll have to wait and see on the rest. EA would be pretty stupid to alienate it's largest install base of the two next gen consoles.
But at the end of the day if I had to choose between "Game Share", which I don't have to pay for, and "EA access", which you pay for but is fairly cheap. I would choose Game Share. The ability to pop in any multi-player game and play it with any of my friends is pretty damn awesome.
Plus I exchange games with a few buddies who don't game a lot. We traded Last of us around last year and they both had big issues getting past a certain part and if I could have just jumped onto their system and pushed them through it, it would have made things easier.
I have to admit though, I don't play Battlefield at all and I'm not a FIFA fan. So an EA service might not be my thing to begin with. I stick to NHL and 5 days of early access wouldn't really be a big enough incentive to pay 30 bucks a year for.
