Is it too much to ask to make a DC movie thats a little fun?

I remember one of the head writers for DC making the comment in a MoS presser that Superman is such an iconic character that in his publication history he is written in a way that reflects the times in which they are living. I think MoS is kinda written that way. But is that really necessary? Superman is a silly character. Make him fun.

While I enjoyed MoS, I was semi confused by it. All of the trailers leading up to it, I thought nailed it. "You will give the people an ideal to strive towards, they will race behind you, they will stumble they will fall. But in time they will join you in the Sun. In time you will help them accomplish wonders." ......Then in the movie he destroys half a city and kills a dude.
Superman is a hard character. The Good 'ol Boy who can never lose.

You have to make him more serious because otherwise hes ridiculous.
