I wish I had the balls to put Airplane! in my top 5, because I probably would, but it is just a bit too one dimensional to call it a true great film. It is the greatest comedy though.
Yeah, the thought crossed my mind too. It's hard to really weigh it as a movie, but the density of funny and really funny jokes in it is unsurpassed. So hard to pick a favorite gag... wrong day to quit xxx; drinking problem; little breather; jive old lady; every one of johnny's lines which, despite the gay stereotypes, weren't mean-spirited.
