I'm not sure how anyone can say Minnesota won this trade. I guess relatively speaking you can say they maximized what they could have gotten as a return, but getting even value is unlikely to happen. I'd say realistically there's a 15-20% chance Andrew Wiggins will ever be as good as Kevin Love is right now, Bennett and the draft pick are a wash so the only way Minnesota can win this trade is if Wiggins fulfills his potential.
I feel fairly confident in saying Wiggins will never be as good as Love, who by the way can still get better seeing as he's just hitting his prime and leaving the West for the East and now has the best player in the league beside him instead of a couple of guys in the top 100 (maybe?) in Minnesota.
The thing is Minnesota didn't have to trade Love now so even if Cleveland didn't want to include Wiggins, Minnesota wasn't obligated to trade Love. They could have waited until the trade deadline and gotten the exact same packages. Of course if they waited maybe Minnesota does what Portland did last year and takes a big jump and then maybe the Wolves have a chance to re-sign Love.
But as Raptor fans most of us should love this trade. The odds Wiggins is demanding a trade like Love in a few years is much higher in Minnesota than it is Cleveland, and since Wiggins can force his way anywhere by refusing to sign a new deal with whomever he's traded to, he could force his way to Toronto. Wiggins-Coboclo 2020 is the future!
