I'm the least handy guy there is - so full disclosure on that front.

We were out of town for about 10 days - and when we returned we discovered we had left a full load of wash in the machine - with all the water in there. (So we had started the load but never closed the lid so once it filled it stopped).

No leak at that point.

My wife re-started the load - thinking that would allow the water to drain and then we would re-do the whole load with a vinegar mixture.

Anyways when it was in the spin cycle I went back in to discover the machine leaking from the bottom. Not a ton of water - but quite a bit.

Any ideas on what caused this? Did the machine somehow leak because we left the water in there for over a week?

My next step is to do a small test load tomorrow to see if it leaks again but in the meantime thought I would post the question here to see if anyone has any idea of what could have caused this.
