Stereotypes happen for a reason. They may evolve because of a person's culture or religious beliefs, but I don't think it's unfair to state that many Asians are show offs, or that they, more than any other group, have a liking for high end items. Obviously you will be able to find Asians who do NOT fit this description at all.

No its not unfair. In fact, Ive known many asian girlfriends in the past who were much worse than me, as far as feeling that they "have to" own high brand name stuff and personal image, status quo, etc. Some wont drive a1987 honda, instead they want a 2006 Audi TT...that kind of thing.
I will admit, I know I am materialistic, otherwise I wouldnt be spending such insane prices on basic stuff. But its something Im desperate in coming out of.
Glasses - $400
Cell - $750
Sunglasses - $250
Skirt - $450
and so on...
If I wasnt living this crazy "rich n famous" lifestyle, I could have gotten those 4 things for a fraction of what I paid, like 1/5! That is 4 things that I paid $1850 for, and I could have gotten for well under $600, maybe even $500! Wow, think of all the extra money I would have right now to invest into my savings.
Like I said, Im the only person in the family who tends to live this way. All my other sisters are the opposite. They dont go out spending $750 on a phone, or get new eyewear when they dont even need it. They are able to use stuff as is, and focus on what life is all about.
