I saw Kent Nilsson play and he was amazing on some nights. If he had worn the #13 for example, I would have voted for the "Magic Man". Wayne Gretzky once said Kent may have been "the most skilled hockey player I have ever seen in my entire career" That's high praise indeed.
686 points in 553 games. Thats good for 9th all time points per game in NHL history which is an amazing accomplishment putting him ahead of hockey legends like Lafleur, Jagr, Sakic, Yzerman. (Theo weighs in at an also fairly impressive 48th)
All that said, #14 in Calgary Flames history belongs to Theoren Fleury. Has to be the most exciting player to ever wear a Flames jersey. Heart, courage, magic with the puck, amazing skills, never backed down from anyone. Lucky enough to watch him as a rookie make the team. Instant fan favorite from day one.
Some may argue Theo deserves to be in the Hockey Hall of Fame and may have a valid point, but there is no doubt #14 should be flying beside #9 and #30 in the rafters of the Dome.
