Owen Nolan's time was too short, but he was such an awesome player for so many years. It's hard not to choose him, but I just can't.
Kisio was a very good player before he came to Calgary, but didn't do much for the Flames.
Bob MacMillan was quite the player in his time for the Flames, but he's just not that memorable in the grand scheme of things.
Mikael Backlund? Maybe one day, but not yet.
Jeff Shantz? Don't get me started…
It came down to Patterson vs. Yelle. Both had similar stats, both played a similar game. Patterson gets some favorability because of the cup runs and win, as well as being part of the BoA when it was at its peak. I still had to go with Yelle, as he just did everything you want a hockey player to do to help you win. He was such an unsung hero just about every night.
This was close, but I went with Yelle.
