He'll have just turned 33, so there's still a great possibility for a high-valued contract. But in order to make more than Weber in career earnings he'll likely have to earn 50M after this contract. Possible, especially with how the cap could rise, but at that point when someone needs to sign a 50M contract to only catch up to another player we're playing with hypotheticals far too much to consider him the highest paid defenseman in any stretch, in my opinion. Unless we also want to consider McDavid the highest paid forward too. :P

There's also Doughty and Karlsson, who wont be making as much during this next little stretch, did make more than Subban the last little bit and will be UFA's as 29 year olds. If we're predicting career earnings I would say those 2 have a higher likelihood of finishing ahead of KeithWeber than Subban does.
