Subban will have the highest cap-hit, but his 72M contract is significantly lower than Suter's 98M contract and especially Weber's 110M contract, so I wouldn't say he's the highest paid defenseman at all.

He is going to be 33/34 when this contract is up. There is a high likelyhood he could sign a similar or even larger contract then as long as he stays healthy. Premiere d-men can be highly productive well into their late 30's early 40's.
